Who wrote this
IgnatiusTheYoungerAI is one person, building in public, with every number posted.
Twelve-plus years in enterprise B2B pricing and revenue strategy. Certified Pricing Professional through the Professional Pricing Society. Significant discretionary pricing authority across a large, multi-location distribution business, presenting regularly to President- and VP-level leadership.
Built an internal gross-profit analysis platform solo — no data science team, no vendor — integrating cost data with deal-level specifications. Built five production machine learning models independently in Python: demand forecasting, customer churn, segmentation, market basket analysis, and price elasticity. Heavy SQL against Snowflake. Degree in Accounting, Finance and International Studies from the Kelley School of Business.
Why that background produced this book
Pricing is the discipline of finding the thing everyone is getting for free and putting a number on it. That is the entire argument here. Every AI deployment contains a human verification and accountability layer that nobody has priced, nobody has staffed, and nobody has put on a dashboard — and the person absorbing it is usually the person with the least authority to change it.
This book is that mispricing, written down, with the arithmetic shown.
The standard this holds itself to
Every empirical claim in the book carries a status label. Where the author is reasoning rather than citing, the text says so — including for the central thesis. Modeled figures are labeled modeled and shown with their assumptions, so you can change the inputs and run your own.
If you find an error, report it. The corrections record is part of the product.
The larger project
IgnatiusTheYoungerAI is a public attempt to build a $1,000,000 outcome with AI, solo, with revenue, costs and mistakes posted as they happen. This book is one line of that. The rest of it is in the build log.
IY — the finish still matters.
